Time to catch up on facts

Well it has been a busy week, lots of airport transfers. Mostly going out of the UK. I don't blame them as the weather is getting horrible again.
Why do people want to hire chauffeured cars to cruise around in? No one can see them in the back of the car which has dark tinted windows!
My cars, chauffeurs and services are tailored for VIP's, Music, TV, Film and Sports celebrities, Wealthy clients, Government and ambassadors and Royalty.

I'd love to hear comments from other bloggers on how they are finding this industry and what they are doing to cope with the current recession.

Get rich!

I doubt very much that being a close protection chauffeur will ever make chauffeurs rich men. Having a selection of high class luxury cars helps bring in the contracts and having an excellent reputation working for the most influential people in the world does bring trust and increase business, but at the most, It should lead to a very comfortable life.

The average earning for a standard chauffeur is approximately £8 - £15 per hour depending on qualifications and experience, The average earnings for an SIA licensed Close Protection Operative range from £20 - £35 per hour, again depending on qualifications and experience. In both roles, reputation is King, as the amount of qualified people far outweigh the number of positions available. Anybody who can drive and anybody leaving the forces, look to applying their skills to a career that will increase their earnings potential, thus leaving this sector completely saturated.

As for making it rich and being the person in the back of the car..... not for a hell of a long while and not without putting in the hours or taking huge risks.

And so to bed!

Well what can I say, had one of the most tiring days. Took my very well esteemed client to the south coast and back.

After dropping him off, it was then into the Capital, right through until midnight, dodging the ever increasing amount of dangerous cyclist, motorbikes and cars (especially taxis) caught up in the motorbike demonstration. I think I travelled all of 500 yards in one and a half hours.

It's 3am. I am now at home after a 21 hour day and it is time to hit the sack.

Goodnight.

Hi blogytes,

Welcome to my second blog and as you can see from my first blog, it's not as easy making the time to get on here as often as I would like. I have had such a hectic schedule over the past week that as soon as I have finished with one client, I have to collect my next one and when I do finish, I have approximately minutes to grab some zzzzzz's before I start again. Such is life in the life of a CPO Driver. Well I guess thats why i'm in such demand, 'dedication'.

I am taking the day off today to spend lazing in the sun and get some colour to my skin as living in the shadows of the celebs and VIP's you tend to lay low in the background, out of sight.

Tomorrow, I start at 6am and drive my client from Central London to the south coast and back again and when I drop him off at 5pm, I have another client to transport around London until midnight. This is all subject to traffic being non existent and the roads being mysteriously empty, 'as if'.

Day 1 in the blog life of Crown Chauffeurs

Well this is new to me. I've never really thought about rambling on and on about my thoughts, ideas, life etc. but I guess it's the new way of the world. You never know, you may find me, my work and my blog interesting.

A bit about me. My name is Robert and I run a Close Protection Security Chauffeur Company (See my website www.crown-chauffeurs.co.uk) based in Central London with a team of highly dedicated and specially trained Security drivers. For those who don't know, Close protection is the current term for what used to be called bodyguards so as you can now guess, we are highly specialised security chauffeurs employed to transport the cream of society. 'Yes' we have driven for some very famous people and 'No' we will not disclose who they are as this is part and parcel of our remit SECURITY. I will however on the odd occasion tell you some highly interesting amusing stories, but needless to say, will have to change the persons name to protect their identity.

What with the current economic climate, we, like most other companies and businesses, have had to keep the giant wheels of industry turning by expanding our repertoire and have carried out the odd wedding, prom and bar mitzvah and even run a hackney carriage taxi service, so will have a few stories to tell from that. So keep your eyes peeled and check out my daily blog spot.
